Ireland introduces bill for mandatory gender pay gap portal reporting
Bill 95/2026 would require employers already covered by Ireland’s gender-pay-gap reporting regime to file through the central portal. The 13 October Second Stage debate was adjourned; the bill is not yet enacted.
What changed
Introduced on 7 October 2026, section 2 would allow regulations requiring covered employers to submit gender-pay-gap information to the Minister while continuing public publication. The 13 October committee amendments are proposals, and the official Dáil record says the Second Stage debate was adjourned. The Minister confirmed that wider Directive (EU) 2023/970 transposition will require separate legislation.
What it means for employers
Continue the existing 50+ annual reporting and public-publication process. Prepare data for central-portal submission, but verify enactment, the Part 2 commencement order and reporting regulations before treating portal filing as a legal requirement.
